Front-End Angular Developer

Location: Remote Contract Type: [Full-time / Contract / Freelance – specify as applicable]

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Front-End Angular Developer to lead the migration of our existing front-end application to a modern Angular-based solution.

You will work closely with our back-end developer and management team to rebuild the current user interface using Angular, integrating with existing APIs through Swagger/OpenAPI documentation. The initial project will focus on accurately migrating the existing

UI and functionality, followed by ongoing front-end enhancements, maintenance, and new feature development as business requirements evolve.

This is a remote role suited to a self-directed developer who can manage their workload independently, communicate clearly, and deliver high-quality, user-focused interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of the existing front-end application to Angular.
• Recreate and enhance the current UI while maintaining consistency with existing workflows, functionality, and business requirements.
• Integrate front-end components with REST APIs using supplied Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
• Collaborate with the back-end developer to clarify API requirements, request additional endpoints or documentation where needed, and support end-to-end feature delivery.
• Communicate technical requirements, constraints, timelines, and progress clearly to management and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop reusable, maintainable, responsive, and accessible Angular components.
• Implement additional UI improvements, feature updates, and front-end developments after the migration project is complete.
• Apply UX best practices to improve usability, navigation, responsiveness, and overall user experience.
• Source, create, and optimise graphical assets for the user interface when required, ensuring that all assets are appropriately licensed for commercial use.
• Use version control and development workflows effectively, including Git and Azure DevOps tools.
• Participate in regular progress meetings, including at least one scheduled voice or video call per week.
• Maintain clear technical documentation where appropriate, including implementation notes, UI decisions, and deployment-related information.
• Identify front-end risks, technical debt, performance issues, and usability concerns, and propose practical solutions.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 5 years of professional experience in front-end, UI, or web application development.
• Strong commercial experience with the Angular framework.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design.
• Experience building and maintaining scalable, component-based front-end applications.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI documentation and API-driven development.
• Experience with DevOps and source control tools, including Git and Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, performance optimisation, and front-end debugging.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, estimate work, and deliver to agreed deadlines.
• Professional-level written and spoken English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with back-end developers, management, and other stakeholders.
• Reliable internet connection and access to suitable personal development equipment and tools.
• Familiarity with, and willingness to comply with, relevant UK copyright, intellectual property, data protection, and digital legislation.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with UX and UI design principles, including accessibility, usability, user journeys, and information architecture.
• Experience creating, sourcing, editing, or optimising graphical assets for web applications.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG.
• Experience with back-end development concepts, databases, authentication flows, or server-side technologies. This is desirable but not essential.
• Experience working with European or North American companies, clients, or distributed teams.
• Experience with Azure-hosted environments, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or deployment workflows.
• Experience with UI component libraries, design systems, and/or front-end testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of security best practices for web applications, including secure handling of authentication, user data, and API interactions.

Working Arrangements

This role offers flexibility in working hours. You will generally be able to organise your own schedule; however, you must:

• Respond to project communications in a timely manner during UK working hours.
• Be available for at least one scheduled video or voice meeting per week.
• Attend additional meetings where reasonably required for planning, requirements clarification, demonstrations, or issue resolution.
• Provide regular updates on progress, blockers, and expected delivery timelines.
• Maintain a professional, reliable, and collaborative approach while working remotely.

Compliance and Intellectual Property

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Respect UK copyright law and only use third-party code, libraries, images, fonts, icons, and other assets where appropriate permissions or licences are in place.
• Ensure that any graphical assets sourced or created for the project are legally usable for the intended commercial purpose.
• Follow applicable UK data protection and digital legislation, including appropriate handling of confidential business and user information.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding company systems, documentation, source code, customer information, and internal business processes.
• Assign or licence work product, source code, documentation, and related deliverables to the company as required under the agreed contract.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a dependable and proactive Angular developer who is comfortable taking ownership of a front-end migration project. You should be able to work from existing designs and functionality, ask the right technical questions, collaborate effectively

with a back-end developer, and make sensible UX and implementation decisions when requirements are incomplete.

You should take pride in producing clean, maintainable code and polished user interfaces, while balancing quality with delivery timelines.
